This is the way my Mom would cook them. My Dad loves them this way!! This is for my Dad, he sure was happy after eating these. Usually we serve it over rice.

Ingredients

  1. Beans
  2. 1medium sized onion
  3. 2leaves of bay leaves
  4. 1 cupdiced bell peppers
  5. 1 teaspoondried oregano
  6. 62 ouncesblack beans
  7. 1/2 stickbutter
  8. 1 teaspoonsavory
  9. Vinegar -Butter poaching sauce
  10. 2 cupschopped onions
  11. 1/4 cupvinegar your choice
  12. 1/2 stickbutter
  13. 1 teaspoonextra virgin olive oil
  14. To taste salt and pepper
  15. 3leaves of bay leaves

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    For the beans, melt the butter and add the onion, pepper, and bay leaves. Sauté till onions are translucent. Then mix in the spices then the beans.

    Simmer for 35 minutes.

    For the beans, melt the butter, add the oil and vinegar. Add the bay leaves, simmer 3 minutes and stir in the onions. Serve these over the beans. I hope you enjoy!!!
