Steps

25-30 minutes
  1. 1

Wash and rinse horse gram thoroughly to remove all the dirt. Soak them using clean drinking water for 8 hours.

  2. 2

Afterwards, drain the soaked legume. Do not discard the water. Let the water drip completely. Collect it and use for kneading the dough, in curries and gravies etc.

  3. 3

Now add them to a clean and a thin wet cotton cloth. Cover and place in the colander. Keep aside in a warm and a dark place undisturbed for about 3-4 days. If it's dried up, sprinkle some more clean drinking water on top. See to it that it's wet always and not dried. This is important.

  4. 4

It took me around 3 1/2 days to get these beautiful looking Sprouts. Use them as required. And they can be stored for a day or two in the chill tray of the refrigerator in airtight containers. Or can freeze them in zip lock bags for a long time use. Enjoy!

  5. 5

For this simple yet a filling recipe, boil the horse gram sprouts using enough water or pressure cook for 3 whistles. Don't forget to add salt as per one's own liking. That's it.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
