Ingredients

  • 1 cupshortening
  • 3/4 cupsugar
  • 1egg
  • 2 1/4 cupssifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoonsalt
  • 1/4 teaspoonbaking powder
  • 1 teaspoonalmond extract
  • Green vegetable coloring

Steps

  1. 1

    Cream shortening, adding sugar gradually.

  2. 2

    Add unbeaten egg, sifted dry ingredients, flavoring, and a few drops of vegetable coloring. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Heat oven to 375°. Fill a MIRRO cooky press. Form cookies on ungreased MIRRO aluminum cookie sheets, using the tree plate. Bake 10-12 minutes per batch. Decorate with tiny candies.
