Steps
- 1
To make the batter: Finely chop the cabbage into 1/2-inch (1 cm) pieces.
- 2
In a large bowl, combine the flour, dashi powder, and cabbage. Mix well with chopsticks.
- 3
Add the water and Worcestershire sauce to the bowl and mix.
- 4
Roughly chop the dried squid and pickled red ginger. Add them and the tempura bits to the batter. The basic batter is now ready!
- 5
To cook: Preheat an electric griddle to 400°F (200°C) and spread 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil evenly over the surface.
- 6
Scoop just the solid ingredients from the batter and stir-fry them on the griddle.
- 7
Once the ingredients are cooked and softened, shape them into a ring, leaving a well in the center.
- 8
Pour the remaining liquid batter into the center of the ring.
- 9
When the batter in the center turns translucent and thickens, mix everything together and spread it out thinly.
- 10
Sprinkle Baby Star ramen snacks over the top.
- 11
When the bottom is slightly crispy and browned, it's ready to eat!
