  • For 2 cups of rice (serves 3)
  • 2 cupsrice
  • 7 ozpeeled chestnuts
  • 1/4 cupKappo Shiro Dashi
  • 1 2/3 cupswater
  • 1 pinchroasted black sesame seeds
  • For 3 cups of rice (serves 4)
  • 3 cupsrice
  • 10 1/2 ozpeeled chestnuts
  • 3/8 cupKappo Shiro Dashi
  • 2 1/2 cupswater
  • 1 pinchroasted black sesame seeds

Steps

  1. 1

    We will use 'Kappo Shiro Dashi' this time.

    A picture of step 1 of Chestnut Rice with Dashi Flavor (2 or 3 Cups).

    Rinse the rice and drain it in a colander. Let it sit for 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Quickly wash the chestnuts in salt water, drain, and cut each into 2-3 pieces.

  4. 4

    Put the rice from step 2 into the rice cooker, add 'Kappo Shiro Dashi' and water, mix, level the surface, add the chestnuts from step 3, and cook.

  5. 5

    Once cooked, serve in bowls and sprinkle with roasted black sesame seeds.
