Add all the seasonings except the peanuts to a pot or frying pan, and mix well before turning on the heat. Cook over high heat, stirring until it thickens.

Stop the heat when it feels slightly loose, as it will harden when cooled. At this point, it should have the consistency of dengaku miso.

Once it has cooled slightly, add the peanuts and toasted sesame seeds if desired, and mix well. Be careful, as it becomes difficult to mix once completely cooled.

The thickness is up to your preference, but if it becomes too hard, it's due to lack of moisture. In that case, add water to loosen it.
