Ingredients

6 servings
  • 100 gmpacket of MTR gulab jamun mix
  • 1 cupmilk
  • 2.5 cupssugar
  • 1/2 tbspncardomom powder as flavor
  • Oil for deep frying

Steps

  1. 1

    First prepare the sugar cyrup. Take 1.5 glass of water in vessel add the sugar to it. Keep the vessel on gas on low flame. Keep stirring to dissolve the sugar.

    After 10 minutes, you will see the water thickening. Add the cardomom powder to it. When it's ready turn off the flame

  3. 3

    Now take the 100 gm mix powder into another container. Trick to get round and soft balls is to add milk to the mixture instead of water. After adding milk, mix it together gently using hands.

    Knead the mixture into smooth and soft dough. If the mixture is little dry, add more milk and knead again.

  5. 5

    Now take small quantities of dough and make round shaped ball from it. You should get 20-25 balls from 100 gm powder

  6. 6

    Add oil to deep frying pan. now add the balls to the oil and let them fry on low flame. Stir occasionally to get even golden brown color on all sides. Adding milk to dough makes sure that balls don't break while frying.

  7. 7

    Remove the balls and put them on a plate. Make sure you use kitchen napkin to drain excess oil on the jamun balls

  8. 8

    Now slowly add all the bowls to the sugar syrup. Serve it hot after 30 minutes.
