Pan-Fried Gyozas (餃子)
Who doesn’t enjoy some gyozas with beer? 🍻
Steps
- 1
Combine all the ingredients for the gyoza filling in a large bowl and knead until thoroughly combined.
- 2
Prepare a small bowl of water. Place one wrapper on your non-dominant hand and place about 2 teaspoons of filling in the center of the wrapper.
- 3
Dip one finger in the water and moisten the top half of the wrapper. Using your non-dominant fingers as support, start from one side snd crease and pinch the wrapper as you work your way around the filling, making sure the gyoza is evenly spaced and folded.
- 4
Heat a large non-stick pan with some sesame oil over medium heat, and place the gyoza in any pattern(s) you wish, flat side down. Cook the gyozas until the bottom turn golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- 5
Once golden brown, add a splash of water and cover the gyozas completely, steaming them for about an additional 3-5 minutes or until the water fully evaporates.
- 6
Release the gyozas from the pan, place a plate on top the pan and flip for a nice presentation 😉
