Wash and put dals in a mixing bowl.

Add water and soak dals for 1 hour. Add red chillies also.

When dals are well soaked, transfer them into a mixing jar. Grind coarsely. Add a little water if needed. Take out in a mixing bowl.

Add sliced onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, chopped ginger, cumin seeds, carom seeds,salt and asafoetida. Mix well.

Heat oil in a pan. Make small dumplings of dals and shallow fry them till golden and crispy.

Take out and enjoy.
