Frozen Azuki Milk Bites

When I was a little girl, Frozen Azuki Milk was a popular treat. It was available as an icy pole OR in a cup. It is actually easy to make at home if you have a freezer and ice tray. Milk can be sweetened with Sugar OR Condensed Milk, etc. Please use an ice tray or silicone moulds that can make bite-size cubes. Large cubes are too difficult to eat.

Steps

5 minutes plus freezing time
  1. 1

I recommend to use an ice tray or silicone moulds that can make bite-size cubes. Large cubes are too difficult to eat.

  2. 2

Mix all ingredients and pour the mixture into the moulds. Distribute Azuki beans evenly. Freeze until firm.

  3. 3

Alternatively, you can place about 1 teaspoon of Tsubu-an (Sweet Azuki Paste) in each mould. Mix Milk and the sweetener of your choice, and pour the Milk mixture over Azuki paste in each mould. Freeze until firm.

  4. 4

To take out the frozen Azuki Milk, dipping the bottom of the tray in warm water would help. Rock-hard Azuki Milk is too difficult to eat. Leave them at room temperature for a while until slightly softened.
