Marinate the fish with haldi powder, red chilli powder, salt and mustard oil. Keep aside for 2 minutes. Heat mustard oil in a kadai. Fry the fish one by one. Till it is light brown in a colour both the sides. Once it is one then transfer to a plate and keep aside.

In the same kadai. Add little oil then add cumin seeds, 1 bay leaf, kalonji and whole red chilli for tadka. Let it crackle. then add all the dry ingredients, ginger, garlic and green chilli paste. Mix it well. Add enough water. So that the masala will not burn. Let it boil.

When it starts boiling. Add fried fish one by one. Cook for 1 minutes. Once it is done. Switch off the flame. Now it is done. Then transfer to a serving plate.

Immediately serve with hot.steam rice
