Spring is here, and it's time to start preparing trays of traditional sweets! Cranberries are packed with nutrients and are great for your health. Besides cooking, you can use them to make jam or as a natural coloring for baked goods.
Steps
- 1
Wash the cranberries thoroughly and let them drain. Toss them with the sugar and let sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the sugar. Place the mixture in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring regularly. When it starts to boil, reduce the heat to low and continue stirring until the cranberries are soft and broken down.
- 2
While stirring, use a spoon to mash the cranberries until the jam thickens to your desired consistency. Remove from heat and let cool. Transfer to a container and store in the refrigerator. Enjoy with bread or mix into fruit drinks.
