Ingredients

15-20minutes
4 servings
  • 2puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • As required, gajar halwa*
  • 1egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp.sugar
  • 1 tbsp.powdered sugar

Steps

15-20minutes
  1. 1

    Preheat oven 450F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Place one sheet of puff pastry on working surface, dusted with flour, and slightly roll it.

  3. 3

    Cut desired size circle and place it on the baking sheet and spread gajar halwa on top.

  4. 4

    Repeat step 2 for the second puff pastry.

  5. 5

    Place a small cap or piping nozzle in centre and slice the puff pastry like a pizza but leaving the edges intact.

  6. 6

    Gently lift each triangle and pinch together in the centre.

  7. 7

    Remove the nozzle, cutting a small circle and carefully place the designed pastry sheet over the halwa.

  8. 8

    Crimp the edges and egg wash. Sprinkle sugar and bake for 10-12 minutes or till golden brown.

  9. 9

    Remove and dust with powdered sugar.

  10. 10

    Cool and slice and serve.
