Urad dal ponda

Take a cup of whole white urad. Clean well and soak with cold water for one hour.

By that time chop onion, green chillies, curry leaves, and coriander leaves. Grate the coconut and keep ready.

After an hour drain the water completely from the urad. Transfer to a mixer jar. Grind it into a smooth batter and sprinkle little water, again grind for a minute.

Transfer the batter to a bowl, add chopped onion, green chillies, curry leaves, coriander leaves and coconut. Mix well.

Keep a kadai on medium heat. Once the oil is hot enough, with a spoon, drop the urad batter. Wait for two minutes, then give a mix. Once the ponda turns golden brown, remove from oil, drop into a kitchen tissue.

Than transfer to a serving plate. Serve it hot with coconut chutney. Enjoy the yummy and crispy urad pandas.
