Ingredients

  1. 1/4 cupolive oil
  2. 5sweet Italian sausages
  3. 3bell peppers (any color), sliced
  4. 1yellow onion, sliced
  5. 1 tsp.Italian seasoning
  6. 1 tsp.salt
  7. 1/2 tsp.ground black pepper
  8. 1 pinchred pepper flakes
  9. 2 clovesgarlic, minced
  10. 1/4 cupMoscato wine
  11. 1/4 cupgrated Parmesan
  12. Garlic Bread Hoagie Rolls
  13. 4hoagie rolls
  14. 1/4 cupgarlic butter spread (to taste)
  15. 8 slicesmozzarella cheese

    Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. 2

    Using a sharp knife, pierce the sausage casings with 4-5 small holes on each side. Add the olive oil and sausages to a cold pan and cover.

  3. 3

    Over medium-high heat, fully cook and brown the sausage links on all sides. Slice and set aside.

  4. 4

    Spread the garlic butter onto both sides of each hoagie roll before placing in the oven. Check frequently for golden-brown while continuing to the next step.

  5. 5

    Add the sliced vegetables and seasonings to the heated pan. Cover and cook until the peppers are softened and the onions are translucent, stirring occasionally.

  6. 6

    Add the sausage back to the pan with the garlic and stir. Add the wine, deglazing the hot pan as you stir. Continue to cook another 5-10 minutes, until reduced. Sprinkle with Parmesan.

  7. 7

    Once the rolls are golden-brown with crisped edges, add 2 slices of mozzarella to each roll. Add a generous amount of sausage and peppers to each hoagie roll.

    Serve immediately and enjoy!
