Gather all the ingredients.

Make a smooth batter with the cornstarch and set aside. Chop the almonds and set aside.

Add sugar and water to a pan and cook for 5 to 7 minutes.

Once the sugar syrup is ready, add the cornstarch batter and cardamom powder. Cook on low heat until the mixture thickens.

When the mixture thickens, add the almonds, melon seeds, and ghee. Mix well.

Add the orange food coloring and cook on low heat for 15 minutes.

Let it cool.

Grease a rectangular container with ghee, transfer the halwa into it, and garnish with almonds, melon seeds, and poppy seeds. Refrigerate for 1 hour to set.

After 1 hour, cut into pieces and serve.
