Ingredients

  1. 3/4 cupsugar
  2. 1/2 cuporange juice
  3. 1/2 cupwater
  4. 12 Ozfresh cranberries rinsed and picked through
  5. pinchsalt
  6. 1cinnamon stick
  7. 1Orange slice

  1. 1

    Combine sugar, orange juice, and water in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir to combine.

  2. 2

    Add cranberries, salt, cinnamon stick and orange peel.
    Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently.

  3. 3

    Continue cooking, for about 10 minutes, or until all or most of the cranberries have popped. I like to leave a handful of berries whole.

  4. 4

    Let cool for at least 30 minutes. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
    Can be made up to 3 days in advance

I love how you combine those ingredients; the mix seems light yet flavorful. I’m wondering, how’s the texture? Does it stay crisp or become soft after resting a bit?
