Steps
- 1
Mix flour and salt, gradually add water to form a smooth dough; knead well and let rest for 20–30 minutes.
- 2
In a bowl, combine ground meat, chopped onion, coriander, salt, and pepper for the filling.
- 3
Roll the dough thinly, cut into 3-inch squares, place a teaspoon of filling in the center, and fold into a neat dumpling shape.
- 4
Steam the mantu in a steamer for 25–30 minutes until cooked through.
- 5
For the sauce, melt butter in a pan, add tomato paste and water, simmer for 5 minutes; mix yogurt with minced garlic.
- 6
Serve the dumplings topped with the tomato sauce and garlicky yogurt
Tips
Make sure the filling is well-seasoned and not too wet; excess moisture can make the dumplings soggy during steaming.
