Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat, then sauté the onion until soft and translucent.

Add the bell peppers and cook until slightly softened, then stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, cumin, paprika, chili flakes, salt, and pepper; stir well and simmer for 10–15 minutes until slightly thickened.

Make small wells in the sauce and crack the eggs into each well.

Cover the pan and cook until the egg whites are set but yolks remain slightly runny (or to your preference).

Sprinkle with fresh herbs and feta cheese if using, then serve hot with bread.
Tips
Keep the heat low after adding the eggs to avoid overcooking the yolks—shakshuka is best when the yolks stay soft and rich.
