It's a quick and easy dessert to make when you have a sweet tooth and have ingredients you need to get rid of
Steps
- 1
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- 2
Crush graham crackers and spread evenly in the dish. Mix with brown sugar and cinnamon if desired.
- 3
Scatter chocolate pieces over the graham cracker layer.
- 4
Add a generous layer of marshmallows on top.
- 5
Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the marshmallows and chocolate.
- 6
Mix evaporated milk with vanilla extract. Pour evenly over the cake mix. Do not stir.
- 7
Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden and bubbling. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Tips
When pouring the evaporated milk and vanilla mixture over the dry cake mix, DO NOT MIX. This allows the milk to seep down during baking, creating a rich, cakey-brownie texture.
⚠️Pro Tip: Let it sit on the counter for about 10 to 15 minutes after you pull it out of the oven. Because it's full of melted chocolate and marshmallows, it will be incredibly hot and runny right away. Letting it rest gives the layers a chance to set up slightly so you can scoop it out just like you see in⚠️
