Orange granita

It's exciting when you see something grow in your garden. So you can imagine just how excited I was to see not one, but so many oranges in our garden. These aren't very pleasant to eat as a fruit 'cause they are spine-chilling tangy. And even though juice is great, granita is better.

It's exciting when you see something grow in your garden. So you can imagine just how excited I was to see not one, but so many oranges in our garden. These aren't very pleasant to eat as a fruit 'cause they are spine-chilling tangy. And even though juice is great, granita is better.
Steps
- 1
Blend orange with skin, mint, and sugar. Strain after.
- 2
Pour into a freezer-friendly dish. Carefully place in freezer and freeze until solid, about 4 hours. It's good to scrape in between with a fork when it is semi frozen. It makes it softer and a better texture.
- 3
Once it's set. Use a fork to scrape into large crystals and spoon granita into chilled glasses. Serve immediately.
- 4
Note: if you are using regular oranges, throw the peel away.
