Ingredients

8-serving
  • 3 cupschickpeas white
  • 3 - 4 cupswater
  • pinchsalt a
  • 3 numbersonions chopped
  • 5 - 6 numberstomato
  • 1 tablespoonajwain
  • 1 numberbayleaf
  • 3 - 4cardamom num
  • 2cinnamon stick
  • 1 numberstar anise
  • 3 numbersclove
  • 2 tablespoonsginger garlic
  • 1/2 tablespoonturmeric
  • 2 tablespoonscoriander
  • 1 tablespoonchilli powder
  • 1 - 2 tablespoonspepper powdered
  • 1 tablespoonchili kashmiri powder1
  • 1 tablespoonchaat masala
  • 3 teaspoonsgaram masala
  • 1 tablespoontomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoonsoya sauce
  • 1 - 2 teaspoonssugar
  • 2chicken stock masala maggi cubes
  • to tastesalt
  • 1/2 bunchcoriander leaves

Steps

  1. 1

    Firstly pressure cook the washed soaked(overnight) chickpeas or chole in water with salt and tumeric. Wait for2-3 whistle or till 3/4th done.

    Chop and puree the tomatoes and strain the pits andd seeds.

  3. 3

    Saute the whole spices in a few tablespoon of oil and dalda, add the ginger garlic paste. Fry till brown.

  4. 4

    Next the chopped onions, till translucent and slightly brown. Add the masalas and sauté well.

  5. 5

    Add the tomato puree and 2 cups water. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.

  6. 6

    Take 1/2 cup of ththe cooked chole and blend to a puree.

  7. 7

    Add for creamy thickness. Also, add the tomato sauce,soya.chat masala,garam masala and mix well. Taste off with the maggi cubes.

  8. 8

    Finally add sugar,salt as taste. Squeeze a lime juice for some sourness. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
