Chicken Burger

I've been wanting to make some burgers lately cause I have been craving it and all what McD and BK sells is just a little salty, yes delish, but lots of calories and other non-sense... K bought some mince the other day, so I decided to make some chicken burgers. Its quite a lot of fun and very easy because you can flavour your meat in any way you want, I went with Pesto. If you want an indian flavour, you can add the basic turmeric, corinder and chilli. Making burgers at home is definitely healthier because you know what is going in and if you are like me you can stick it in the oven to reduce the amount of oil used
And on a side note, before K and I got married a lot of his friends thought I would only feed him burgers, I have to say this is definitely would be the 2 time that we are eating burger this year! hehe ... :)

Steps
- 1
Saute the onions, green chillies, garlic and ginger pastes until the onions have softened
- 2
All you need is one bowl to mix the following together: Chicken Mince, the onion mixture, pesto, the fresh coriander, salt, pepper, bread crumbs, egg and the pesto. Mix it up real good and start making your patties
- 3
If you have a grill, take it to the grill. If not pour some oil into a frying pan and on medium low, start cooking the burgers. When it started to brown up a little, I flipped it to the other side and continued cooking
- 4
I didn't want to cook the patties forever in lots of oil, so I just topped each burger with a slice of cheese and stuck it in the oven (180C) and let it finish up cooking. Once the burgers are ready, the signal would be the aroma! YUMMY :) Drain on absorbent paper and set aside
- 5
Time to assemble: I went with sesame buns (double YUM), toast it a little if you like. Spread some mayo, then the salad leaves, top it with a burger, squirt some ketchup if needed and some pickles if you like it

Serve!
