Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is my go to chocolate chip cookie recipe. It's super simple to make and tastes delicious. Chewy and gooey!
The recipe was taken from http://www.glorioustreats.com/2013/09/chewy-chocolate-chip-cookies.html and I made slight changes to make it to my liking.
I always make these cookies ahead of time and freeze them for whenever needed. They freeze well and still tastes chewy when needed.

Steps

30 mins
  1. 1

Dry Ingredients: Add flour, baking soda and salt into a bowl and set aside.

  2. 2

Melt the butter on the stove and set aside.

  3. 3

In a mixing bowl add the two types of sugar, vanilla and melted butter and mix with a mixer. Add the egg and the egg yolk and mix again till well blended.

  4. 4

Now add the dry ingredients in two batches to the mixture and using the mixer make sure all the ingredients are well blended.

  5. 5

Add the chocolate chips and mix again. This will be the cookie dough. Put the cookie dough in cling wrap and put it in fridge for 30 mins to chill.

  6. 6

Line two baking/cookie sheets with parchments paper. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Scoop out cookie dough onto the parchment paper with an ice cream scoop spoon.

  7. 7

Bake for 8-9 mins. The cookies will be done when the edges are starting to brown. Once done take the sheets out of the oven and leave on cookie sheet for an additional 5 mins to bake. Once done move to cooling racks and let it cool fully.

  8. 8

Tips: If the cookies are hard that means it has been over baked. Next time reduce the baking time. You can freeze the baked cookies and it will taste chewy when left outside for about an hour before serving. Smarties and MMs can be used instead of chocolate chips as well.

  9. 9

Tip: While baking make sure to put the dough back in fridge otherwise the next batch will loose its shape.
