Green Gram Salad with raw veggies

It was a lazy Sunday morning.Got up late and had a quick breakfast.
Some people say cooking is an art,everybody does not have that talent.
I think more than cooking deciding what to cook is the most difficult part.You have to recollect and check how many types of Dal, Sambhar or other curries you have made in that week and make sure you do not repeat it. This requires great memory skills and creativity skills. So deciding what to cook is also a talent.
So i had zeroed on brinjal sambhar, raw banana podimas and rice. Then my hubby came and said like he wants to make salad.It was a surprise move,never expected that one coming.
Any day is a good day when your hubby helps you in cooking.This salad was done from start till the end by my hubby Vivek. But since he is lazy right now to update in his blog i would be doing it.
Here comes Vivek's exotic special salad.

Wash the spinach leaves twice and leave them in water for some time.

Soak the green gram overnight or if you have not soaked overnight you can pressure cook it with 10 - 15 whistles. If you have soaked it then the number of whistles can be reduced to 5.

Wash the carrot and betroot. Cut the carrot and one half of betroot into long slices.Cut the remaining betroot in to small cubes

Now cook the green gram with the betroot cubes,ginger,garlic and some salt.

Now start plating the salad.

Arrange the sliced carrot and betroot along the ends of the plate.We had arranged two carrot slices and one slice of beetroot.In between gaps can be filled with the raw spinaches.

Now take the green gram and place it in the center of the plate.

Top it with the nuts of your choice. We have added Almonds and Walnuts.Add pomegranates here and there.

Squeeze a full lemon in it.

Sprinkle pepper powder and if you want you can add a few drops of olive oil.
