This is my favorite frosting to use for cake decorating. It tastes great and is wonderful to work with. When decorating cakes, it's best to use hi-ratio shortening, but if you have qualms about it, you can use regular shortening. I just can't guarantee that it will crust up as well.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupbutter
  2. 1/2 cupshortening
  3. 8 ozcream cheese
  4. 3 tbspmilk
  5. 1 tspvanilla
  6. 2 lbpowered sugar
  7. 1 dashsalt

Cooking Instructions

    Mix softened butter, cream cheese, and shortening in mixer. (It's best to use hi-ratio shortening, such as Sweetex).

    Mix milk and vanilla together and then add to butter mixture.

  3. 3

    Slowly add powered sugar and the dash of salt. Once all of the sugar has been added, beat on high for about 2 minutes.
