Lavender Vanilla Syrup

This is a great spring and summer flavor. The sweet vanilla and fresh fragrant lavender are a treat for the senses. This can be mixed into coffee (iced or hot) or lemonade. Or get adventurous and add it to cocktails or champagne. It is a great diy gift when bottled nicely.

Steps
- 1
Bring sugar and water to a boil in a small saucepan
- 2
Scrape your vanilla bean and add to the pan. You're going to strain it, so you can toss the outside of the bean in as well for a stronger flavor. If you don't have a vanilla bean, a teaspoon of vanilla extract can be substituted.
- 3
Add lavender to pan.
- 4
Simmer 15 minutes.
- 5
Remove from heat. Syrup will thicken as it cools.
