Ingredients

  • 1onion, chopped
  • 1bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 packagespinto beans
  • 1smoked meat, hamhocks or turkey
  • 1 pinchpepper flakes
  • 3bay leaf
  • 1/4 tspgarlic paste/
  • 1/3 tspcayenne pepper
  • 2 packagessazon seasoning in Orange box
  • 1water enough to cover the beans

Steps

10 hours 30 mins
  1. 1

    Chop vegetables and reseve.

  2. 2

    Rinse smoked meat in cold water. Boil on high to all the dirt boils off meat. Pour off and rinse meat. Repeat this process until meat boils pretty clear besides the fat.

  3. 3

    Rinse and pick beans. Reserve

  4. 4

    Add sazon, garlic paste, pepper flakes, and cayenne pepper to smoked meat. Continue to boil until almost tender. #If using pork light on any other seasoning.

  5. 5

    Add pinto beans once smoke meat is almost tender. Add vegetables.

  6. 6

    Add more seasoning and pepper flakes to your liking.

  7. 7

    This will take quite a while so you have to keep a close eye on it if you prefer you can use a crock pot or slow cooker stirring often
