I like to use fresh chili peppers instead of the packaged chili seasonings. You can really taste the difference!

In a large pot, saute the peppers and onion in the olive oil until soft.

In a skillet, brown the beef and sausage.

Add the meat to peppers and onion.

Add the tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, and beer.

Simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Stir in the chili powder and salt to taste.

Serve hot and topped with cheese.
