Preheat oven to 350°.

Cream butter and 3/4 cup of sugar.

Add egg yolks and beat.

Stir in potatoes, vanilla, milk, and spices.

In a separate bowl, beat egg whites. When foamy, slowly add remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and beat until stiff.

Fold in sweet potato mixture and pour into pie crust.

Bake for 40 minutes. Cool and serve.
