Ingredients

  1. 2/3 cupfirmly packed light brown sugar
  2. 1 tbspwater
  3. 1 tspvanilla
  4. 2eggs
  5. 1 1/2 cupall-purpose flour
  6. 1/3 cupunsweetened baking cocoa
  7. 1/4 tspbaking soda
  8. 1/2 tspsalt
  9. 2 cupsemi-sweet chocolate chips (12oz package)

Steps

    Heat oven to 375°F

  2. 2

    Combine Crisco, brown sugar, water, and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended.

  3. 3

    Beat eggs into creamed mixture.

  4. 4

    Drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet.

  5. 5

    Bake one baking sheet at a time at 375°F for 7 to 9 minutes, or until cookies ate set. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Cookies will appear soft and moist.

  6. 6

    Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to a cooling rack.
