Naan Fateere

Fateer is a stuffed pastry. This local naan bread or fateer means 'sweet bread', in Azerbaijani language and is truly delicious and gorgeous with a golden yellow filling from the turmeric.
I promise once you taste this sweet breads, will be for ever in your baking list. Using ghee as one of filling ingredients with it’s wonderful taste make this bread unique.
My grandmother used to bake these sweet naan bread fateer for us. There is no chance for leftover breads but You can store in the freezer numbers of them.

In a small bowl, combine yeast with water. Let it stand for 10 minutes until foamy.

In a large bowl, with milk and butter, Stir until mixed. Pour yeast mixture, add flour and salt. Using your hand and mix all ingredients until combine well. Cover the dough with a towel and let to rest for an hour.

Preheat the oven to 180C.

In a small bowl, mix ghee with flour, sugar and turmeric.

Place dough on a floured surface. Put your fingers in oil, and divide dough into small balls. Flatten small balls with your hand.

Place one tbsp of turmeric mixture in the middle of dough and roll it up.

Brush top of dough with beaten egg yolk.
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. - 13
