Steps
- 1
Mix the flours, baking powder in a bowl with a pinch of salt if you like. Cut the butter into cubes and add it to the mix, rubbing together to make a breadcrumb mixture.
- 2
Stir in half of the cheese into the breadcrumbs and make a well in the centre
- 3
Whisk together the yoghurt, egg, marmite and milk then add to the breadcrumbs, bringing together to make a soft, but not sticky dough. If you feel it's a little dry add a bit more milk.
- 4
Heat the oven to 190C/fan 170C and turn the dough out onto a floured surface then roll to about 2cm thick. Stamp out scones until you can't make any more, then reform a doughball and repeat until all the dough is used.
- 5
Place the scones on a baking sheet, brush with a little milk and scatter over the remaining cheese. Bake for 10-12 mins until golden brown.
