Pre heat oven to 375

In a large mixing bowl beat the shortening and butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds.

Add sugar both white and brown sugar, and baking soda. Beat until combined.

Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined, use big kitchen spoon or sturdy spatula to hand mix flour in(optional add half teaspoon of salt) Mix until completly combined. Mix in chocolate chips.

Drop dough by rounded spoonful on baking sheet prepared with wax paper or non stick spray, 2 in apart in 375 oven for 7-8 min or until edges are lightly brown. Makes about 60 cookies
