Ingredients

Serves 4-6 servings
  1. 1 container(about 5 oz/125 g) plain yogurt
  2. 3eggs
  3. 3 containers(using the empty yogurt container) all-purpose flour (about 2 cups/250 g)
  4. 2 containerssugar (about 1 1/3 cups/250 g)
  5. 1 containerolive oil (about 1/2 cup/120 ml)
  6. 1orange
  7. 1 packet(0.6 oz/16 g) baking powder
  8. Butter for greasing the pan
  9. Cake pan

    Combine the yogurt, olive oil, orange zest, and chopped orange in a blender or food processor, and blend until smooth.

    Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  3. 3

    In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sugar, then add to the blended mixture.

  4. 4

    In another bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy, then fold them into the batter.

  5. 5

    Sift the flour and baking powder together, then add to the batter and mix until just combined.

  6. 6

    Grease your cake pan with butter and pour in the batter.

  7. 7

    Pour water into the baking sheet; this will create steam as the cake bakes.

  8. 8

    Place the cake pan on the baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes. If using a round pan, check for doneness after about 35 minutes, as it may bake faster.

    Note: Adding water to the baking sheet helps keep the cake moist, so you don't need to lower the oven temperature.
