Old family recipe from my Great Grandmother who lived during the depression in the 1920's. Tasty and easy to make!!

Ingredients

35 mins

2 cupbrown sugar
2 cuphot water
1 boxraisins
2 tbsplard (or other substitution)
1 tspsalt
1 tspground cloves
1 tspcinnamon
3 cupflour
1 tspbaking soda

Steps

Add all ingredients except flour and soda. Cook for 5 minutes. Then let it cool.

Add flour and baking soda(make sure it's been dissolved in water).

Grease and flour a 9x13 pan. Pour batter in.

Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. Test for doneness w a toothpick.
