Activate yeast by mixing dry yeast, milk and sugar and let sit in a warm spot until volume is doubled.

Preheat oven to 350°F

Add activated yeast to all remaining ingredients except the egg yolk.Mix with mixer or by hand until dough is sticky but separates from bowl or hands easily . Add a little bit flour if it's too sticky and some milk if it's too dry.

Cover an let sit in a warm spot until volume is doubled.

Cut dough into 3 equal size pieces. Form into rolls about 1.5 inch thick. Place parallel to each other and braid them into a loaf.

Cover and let rise again.

When size is doubled mix the egg yolk and milk and brush mixture over loaf. Bake on middle rack for about 20 minutes. Check frequently, bad is done when it has a dark brown color.

Taste best when still a little bit warm. Great for breakfast with honey or jam.
