Boil chicken with celery,onion and carrots until chicken will pull away from bone easy(1 to1 1/2hours).cook chicken at a simmer and not rolling boil(it will be moister).

When chicken is done,remove from broth and let cool. Strain the broth to remove vets and other solids. Add broth to pot (2qts. Per package of dumplings being used). If you do not have enough liquid to make 2qts.,add water to the broth to make the desired quantity. Bring broth to a rolling boil and add 1tbls. Of chicken base. When broth has desired taste,add salt and pepper to desired taste.

Take frozen dumplings and cut into 1/3rd's (do not thaw out.).add a few at a time and stir them while adding them to the broth. While dumplings are cooking remove chicken from the bone and cut into desired size pieces and set aside. When dumplings are done according to package directions add the chicken to the pot . after adding the chicken,add 1\2 cup cream to the pot. Bring back to a boil, storing while cooking. Taste and serve.
