To make the kofta, place the ground beef in a bowl. Grate one onion over the meat, then season with salt, black pepper, and some kofta spice mix. Mix well and let it marinate for 4 hours.

Grease a baking dish with oil. Arrange the potato slices in the bottom, then add some tomato slices and some onion slices. Sprinkle lightly with salt and black pepper.

Shape the kofta into logs and arrange them on top of the potatoes and tomatoes. Cover the kofta with the remaining potato and tomato slices. Drizzle a little oil on top, add 1/2 cup water, and bake in the oven until the dish is cooked through and golden brown.
