Ingredients

60 minutes
  1. 2 cupsall-purpose flour
  2. 2 teaspoonsbaking powder
  3. 1 teaspooncinnamon
  4. 1 teaspoonbaking soda
  5. 4 packetsvanilla sugar
  6. 1/4 teaspoonsalt
  7. 1 cupsugar
  8. 3/4 cupcorn oil
  9. 3eggs
  10. 1/2 cupchopped walnuts
  11. 3medium to large apples (chop one into small pieces and grate the other two on the coarse side of a grater)
  12. powdered sugar for dusting

Steps

60 minutes
  1. 1

    In a bowl, combine all the dry ingredients (flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, vanilla sugar, salt).

  2. 2

    In another bowl, mix the corn oil, sugar, and eggs with a whisk. No mixer needed.

  3. 3

    Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir with a spoon, as the batter will become quite thick.

  4. 4

    Add the walnuts and mix again. Finally, add the apples (both grated and chopped) and stir. The batter will be quite thick.

  5. 5

    Bake in a greased and floured pan at 350°F (180°C) for about 40-50 minutes, depending on your oven.

  6. 6

    At 40 minutes, open the oven door and insert a knife into the cake to check if it's done. If the knife comes out clean, the cake is ready. If it has batter on it, close the oven and continue baking for a few more minutes.

  7. 7

    When the cake is ready, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan. Then, invert it onto a platter and dust with powdered sugar.
