Rinse asparagus and break off any tough, white bottoms.

Cut in 1-2 sections, slicing the asparagus at slight diagonal. Fill medium sized pan halfway with water and bring to boil.

Add asparagus and reduce heat slightly to simmer.

Parboil the asparagus for 2 minutes.

Drain bot water.

While asparagus is still hot, toss them in bowl with lemon juice.

Salt and pepper to taste.

Serve warm or room temperature.
