Cut heart from cabbage, slice remaining cabbage into strips/squares. Add to large pot. Add water and cover, heating over medium heat.

Chop green onion, coin slice the sausage. Rinse sprouts. Add all 3 to pot, on top of cabbage. Re-cover and allow to cook/steam 5min.

Add sugar, pepper, garlic powder and garlic salt or cajun seasoning (dill if using). Stir all ingredients, re-cover. Cook on low for 15-20 min.

Remove from heat. Let cool a few minutes before serving. Refrigerate left-overs (even more flavor).
