I was cooking dinner for my boyfriend after a long day at work and the caramelized onions just sounded good. Then this recipe was born and all was right again in the world. Seriously savory flavor. Let me know what you think!

I was cooking dinner for my boyfriend after a long day at work and the caramelized onions just sounded good. Then this recipe was born and all was right again in the world. Seriously savory flavor. Let me know what you think!
Cooking Instructions

First caramalized the onions by thinly slicing the onion. I use a food processor. Then add butter and oil to a pan on medium- med/low pan. Add onions, sugar, pepper, and bullion. Stir and let them cook until light brown and fluorescent. Set aside (10 ish min).

Now cook package mashed potatoes as on box, but add more milk/ cream in place of some of the water. I would do 1/2 water and half dairy.

Now stir in all of the contents from the onions including the oil & serve!

Side note: I tried this with garlic in the mashed potatoes and it was even better! Yum
