Steps
- 1
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds. Once the cumin seeds crackle, add the onion slices.
- 2
Cook the onion slices till they caramelise and turn brown in colour, but ensure that they don't burn.
- 3
Add the green chilli, salt, dhania powder, garam masala and chilli powder and cook for 2-3minutes.
- 4
Now add the water only, from the soaked rice and bring it to a boil.
- 5
Once the water starts boiling, add the rice and mix well. Cover the pan and let the rice cook on low to medium heat.
- 6
When there is no more water left in the pan, the rice will have fully cooked. Take it off the heat and transfer it in a serving dish.
- 7
Bhuga chawal is ready to serve.
