Golap Pitha is Bengali Cuisine Sweet which is mainly made at the time of Bengali New Year. These sweets is named as Golap which means Rose for it's looks and Pitha means sweets. So, it’s called Sweet Rose 🌹

Steps

Boil milk in a pan with a pinch of salt in it. When the milk starts coming up while boiling, add the all purpose flour to it.

Stir and mix well in low heat. When the milk is absorbed, off the flame and stir it for a minute. Let it rest for 10 minutes and then make a dough of it.

Take a small portion of the dough and roll it flat like a chapati. Cut it into equal shapes with a cookie cutter.

Now place 3 or 4 together and press the center of it slightly. Cut them together leaving the middle portion.

Now start folding it taking one by one like flower petals till it all are folded. Continue the same process with the rest of the dough and make it like a Rose.

Now take sugar and water and boil it for making sugar syrup. Add little cardamom powder in it. When the sugar syrup is one string consistency off the flame and add the rose water, lemon juice, and rose essence in it.

Now in kadai, heat refined oil in medium flame. Fry the Roses made in medium heat till golden in colour flipping both the sides.

Dip them in sugar syrup for 10 -12 minutes and then take out from the syrup and serve.
