Soak the oats in a little water for 1 hour. (If making for breakfast, you can soak them the night before and keep them in the refrigerator.)

Cut the unpeeled apple into small cubes.

Add the apple, oats, lemon juice, and water to a blender. Blend until smooth.

Put a few ice cubes in a glass and pour the smoothie over the ice to serve.
