Lupis

Lupis (sometimes lopis) is an Indonesian traditional sweet cake made of glutinous rice.
Lupis can be sweetened more with shredded coconuttopped with a thick palm sugar syrup.
It is usually eaten as a breakfast or side dish in the evening tea time.
Lupis is often found in traditional markets throughout Indonesia, and in Javanese area, especially in the middle and eastern of Java.

Wash sticky rice like washing ordinary rice when you want to cook it.
Soak glutinous rice until it is submerged for 1 hour
Prepare the wrapper. Can be banana leaves or aluminum foil. Cut the wrapper about 8 x 35 cm in size. If you use aluminum foil, wrap it in 2x.
Fill glutinous rice until it's full. If using banana leaves, pinch a toothpick or stick. - 2
Add it to the sticky rice pan, add the pandan leaves and water until the lupis package is submerged.
Steam for 1 hour, notice if the water shrinks, then add until the lupis is cooked.
Then steam the grated coconut for 15 minutes. Add a little salt.
The lupis sign is cooked, the lupis package feels solid. If the lupis is cooked, remove it from the pan, wait for it to cool.
Arrange for serving, add grated coconut and pour it with liquid brown sugar.
Lupis is ready to be eaten with coffee or tea. - 3
Note: Sugar sauce:
300 gr brown sugar
200 ml of water
3 pandan leaves conclude
For sugar sauce: boil all ingredients until the sugar dissolves stir and strain.
