Bengal is rich in various kind of fishes. Lyata fish is another kind of fish which is loved by most of the Bengalis. Try this preparation with steamed rice.
Steps

Marinate the fish with 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder and some salt.

Heat some oil in a wok and deep fry the fishes. Keep it aside.

In the same wok, add some oil if required. Add the kalaunji and let the aroma comes out.

Add the potatoes and some salt.

Saute it well for a while.

Add the ginger paste, cumin paste, and saute it till the masalas are fried well.

Add some water for the gravy.

Add the mustard paste and green chillies paste.

Add some salt for the gravy. Saute it well.

Wait till the potatoes are cooked well.

Add the fried fishes and slitted green chillies and keep as it is for 5min.

Add coriander leaves and check the salt. Add more if required.

Remove it from the flame and serve hot.
