This is one of the traditional desserts which helps in inducing sleep and also heals stomach discomforts.
Steps

Soak rice,poppy seeds in a bowl full of water for three hours.

Grind it to a fine paste by adding the soaked rice,Gasa gase,grated coconut,dry coconut and elaichi.

In a heavy bottomed vessel add jaggery and required amount of water and bring it to boil.

Then add the ground paste to the vessel containing jaggery syrup and stir continuously for 10 minutes.

Garnish it with your choice of dry fruits fried in ghee.Gasa gase payasa is ready to serve.
