Ingredients

45 minutes
3 to 4 servings
  1. 250 gramsPaneer (Cottage cheese)- cut into cubes
  2. 1 cupGreen peas
  3. 3roughly chopped Onions
  4. 1finely chopped Onion
  5. 2roughly chopped Tomatoes
  6. 1/2 inchchopped Ginger
  7. 10-12Garlic cloves
  8. 1-2Green chillies
  9. 10-12Whole cashews
  10. 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  11. 1/2 inchCinnamon
  12. 1 tbspRed chilli powder
  13. 1/2 tbspTurmeric powder
  14. 1 tbspCoriander powder
  15. 1 tbspGaram masal
  16. To tasteSalt
  17. 1 tbspfresh cream
  18. 1-2 cupswater
  19. Coriander leaves chopped

Steps

45 minutes
  1. 1

    Heat a pan, add 1 tbsp oil. Add roughly chopped onions and fry till it turns brown. Allow it to cool down.

  2. 2

    In a blender take fried onions, ginger, garlic, roughly chopped tomatoes, green chilli and cashews. Blend it to make a smooth paste.

  3. 3

    In that same pan take 3 tbsp oil and add cinnamon and cumin seeds. Saute it till they splutter.

  4. 4

    Add finely chopped onions. Saute till it turns golden. Add the prepared paste to it and saute for 10-12 mins on a low to medium flame till the oil separates from the paste.

  5. 5

    Add turmeric powder, salt,red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala and stir well.Cook for 2-3 minutes.

  6. 6

    Add peas and cook at a low flame for 5 minutes. Add cream and mix well.

  7. 7

    Add water and allow it to cook for 5 minutes.

  8. 8

    Add paneer cubes and cook at a low flame for another one minute.

  9. 9

    Garnish matar paneer with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roties, naan, parathas or rice.
