Heat a pan, add 1 tbsp oil. Add roughly chopped onions and fry till it turns brown. Allow it to cool down.

In a blender take fried onions, ginger, garlic, roughly chopped tomatoes, green chilli and cashews. Blend it to make a smooth paste.

In that same pan take 3 tbsp oil and add cinnamon and cumin seeds. Saute it till they splutter.

Add finely chopped onions. Saute till it turns golden. Add the prepared paste to it and saute for 10-12 mins on a low to medium flame till the oil separates from the paste.

Add turmeric powder, salt,red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala and stir well.Cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add peas and cook at a low flame for 5 minutes. Add cream and mix well.

Add water and allow it to cook for 5 minutes.

Add paneer cubes and cook at a low flame for another one minute.

Garnish matar paneer with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roties, naan, parathas or rice.
